After watching the brilliant BBC series Black and British a forgotten history by David Olusoga, I was left wondering what happens now ? As a Black Briton who’s father left Jamaica, a British colony and served in the RAF during ww2 and who’s mother worked in the NHS as a nurse for most of her life I would like to be able to consolidate the past with the present in the hope of a greater future but looking at the discrimination that is still present in our society today I wonder if we will ever truly be able to draw a line under it.
